How Long an Enterprise Security Rollout Takes
One of the first questions facilities and IT leaders ask us before a project kicks off is simple: what does a realistic security system installation timeline actually look like? The honest answer depends on site count, building readiness, and how many systems are going in together. But after delivering 100+ enterprise security projects across 25+ Indian cities, we've found most rollouts follow a fairly predictable arc, provided the groundwork is planned properly.
Weeks 1-2: Survey, Design, and Network Readiness
Every serious deployment starts with a physical site survey, not a catalog. Our engineers walk each location to map camera lines of sight, door hardware, cable routes, and existing network infrastructure. For multi-site enterprises, this stage also flags which locations need switch upgrades or new PoE runs before installation can even begin.
Weeks 3-6: Procurement, Staging, and Approvals
Hardware sourcing and configuration happen in parallel with any regulatory steps, such as fire alarm approvals from the local fire department. Devices are staged and pre-configured off-site wherever possible, which shortens on-site installation time considerably and reduces disruption to daily operations.
Weeks 6-10: Phased Installation and Commissioning
Installation is almost always phased, floor by floor or site by site, so business operations continue uninterrupted. Cameras, access control panels, and fire alarm devices go in together where scope allows, followed by integration testing, credential enrollment, and commissioning against agreed SLAs before go-live.
What Actually Slows a Rollout Down
In our experience, delays rarely come from the hardware itself. They come from building management approvals, multi-vendor coordination when a client already has partial systems in place, or scope changes discovered mid-project. A single-integrator model that owns surveillance, access control, and fire alarm under one services umbrella removes most of that friction, since there's one team accountable for the schedule instead of three.
For a typical single-site office of 20,000 sq ft, expect 6 to 8 weeks end to end. A 10-site rollout with phased handover usually runs 12 to 16 weeks. If you're planning a deployment and want a realistic timeline for your specific footprint, our team can walk through it with you — book a demo and we'll map out what your rollout would actually look like, site by site.
